Advanced Security Training 2 Day Curriculum

Day 1

Session 1 – Biblical Foundations

  • A contextual study and discussion of biblical stories that help participants to think about
security. Passages from Acts and John as well as 1 Kings 3, Acts 21, and Revelation 6.

Session 2 – Surveillance Awareness

  • Based on best practice teaching used by the U.S. and British Armies and intelligence
agencies, an interactive class on surveillance awareness, the mindset to be had when thinking
about surveillance, and actions to be taken if surveillance is detected.

Session 3 – Surveillance Practical

  • Practical exercise which aims to induce stress and anxiety on participants so they can better
understand the mindset and emotions of those conducting surveillance. This is not exhaustive.

Sessions 4 – Actors and Human Tendencies

  • This afternoon session discusses the criminal mindset and the various actors and what they
pursue (political, criminal, ideological, etc.). This session will also challenge the way
participants think when assessing a situation, to include the identification and value of
    understanding non-verbal cues.

Day 2

Session 1 –Your WHY and Your Response

  • A session on how your skills, abilities, and the outcomes of your activities guide the way you
answer questions when being questioned. This session highlights how a person’s past (and
those like them) defines their perception by others and allows for strategic interpersonal
    communication to occur.

Session 2 – Vignettes

  • 2-3 vignettes in which individuals will be selected to participate in a high stress scenario
while others watch. Participants will be broken into groups to identify key questions and
responses that occur during the scenario. Attention will be given to questions, responses,
aims, incentives, non-verbal communication, and the definition of success.

Sessions 3 – Carjacking

  • A teaching on the best practices in carjacking mitigation procedures.

Session 4 – Answering questions while stressed (group think)

  • 6 – 8 vignettes that include four to five individuals, forcing them to think about how to react
during a situation when pre-planning is limited and ethical decisions must be made.
